(JLT) Textures seem to do something to the very identity of an image. I'm trying to decide what that is. Wonderful perspective/composition and treatment of this image.I've been resisting textures, because they can disguise a weak image and I don't want to fool myself ;). But done well, I enjoy the added tactile dimension -- paint on canvas, the weight and finish of paper in my hands, the organic quality of tree bark. They engage another of my senses, as a viewer.
